Mumbai, Dec 12: A new analysis based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) nutrient-density scoring has identified tomatoes as the healthiest fruit, placing them above avocados. The assessment evaluates fruits and vegetables on the basis of essential nutrients provided per calorie.
According to the findings, tomatoes achieved the highest nutrient-density score of 20.37, making them the top-ranked fruit in terms of overall nutritional value. The scoring considered key nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber.
