Proposed changes to the shellfish, waterways and marina regulations were presented to the Select Board during a meeting held on December 2.
The Department of Natural Resources and the Shore & Harbor Committee drafted the revisions.
Select Board chairwoman Melissa A. Ferretti said the purpose of the meeting was to hear what Department of Natural Resources Director Hannah Lawrence had been working on and that the board has “a long way to go before a vote will be taken.”

Lawrence said a proposed revision to the recreational and commercial shellfish regulations includes prohibiting the removal of “any grasses, including eelgrass and other protective bottom vegetation” for the purpose of shellfishing.
