TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Democrats are hoping to pick up hundreds of seats in state legislatures nationwide in next year’s midterm election, and that includes right here in Arizona.

Each major political party has the goal to win as many races as possible, but following widespread democratic wins this past November, democratic strategists have extra confidence about this election cycle.

The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee released a memo mapping out its plan to help Democrats pick up new majorities, supermajorities and trifectas across the country in 2026.

It starts with raising $50 million, but state Senate Democratic Leader Priya Sundareshan said just how much of that will be going to Arizona is unknown at this time.

“Nationally, all eyes are on Arizona,” Sundareshan said
