It would be easy for Bondurant-Farrar senior Nolan Fellers to blame anyone or anything other than himself for why he hasn't made it past the Iowa high school state wrestling tournament semifinals.

The sheer talent of his opponents in the semifinals would have been a reasonable place to start, from three-time state champion Ryder Block as a freshman, Southeast Polk's Logan Trenary as a sophomore and two-time state champion Bas Diaz as a junior. Since defeating Fellers over the last three years, all have gone on to wrestle at Division I programs.
