More than 100 properties in County Durham lost power after a car collided with a telegraph pole on Thursday evening.

Emergency services were called to Station Road, Murton, at around 10.20pm on Thursday (December 11) following reports of a vehicle hitting a telegraph pole on the stretch of road.

Images from the scene show a car with damage to the bonnet and front bumper of the vehicle, while blue lights from police vehicles can be seen in the background.

Around 126 properties on Station Road South, Doxford Terrace, Station Estate North and Station Estate South in Murton lost power.
