PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Peoria Police arrested a 17-year-old Thursday who they said is responsible for a late October double shooting that left one man dead and another person with injuries.

Officers said the investigation led them to the teenage boy, who police found in the 600 block of East Maywood Avenue Thursday. When officers approached the teen, he ran away, but was captured in the 2700 block of North Bigelow Street after a brief chase.

After police took him in for questioning, he was arrested on a slew of charges, including the following:

First degree murder

Aggravated battery with a firearm

Aggravated robbery/Forgery

Resisting/Obstructing police

The teenager had four active warrants at the time of his arrest.
