The Boston Red Sox came into the offseason needing to make a few big moves, but they've already whiffed on a few top free agent targets. They lost out on Pete Alonso and Kyle Schwarber at the winter meetings, but they remain in the hunt for a middle-of-the-lineup bat.
They could re-sign Alex Bregman to a new deal, but it's hard to tell if the Red Sox are going to be willing to pay the cost for the star.
FanSided's Christopher Kline predicted Bregman would ditch the Red Sox in free agency and sign a deal with the Chicago Cubs. Bregman is projected to sign for $182 million in free agency this winter, per Jim Bowden of The Athletic.
