Merseyside Police have warned they are targeting fast-food drive-thrus as part of their crackdown on drug and drink drivers this festive period. 105 motorists have been arrested for driving under the influence so far this festive period and more are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
The arrests follow a national campaign, Operation Limit, which intensifies the focus on drug and drink driving for police forces across the festive period. Throughout December and into the New Year, Merseyside Police will be carrying out increased patrols across the region, with roadside breath tests and drug wipes taking place at all times of day, including early mornings and commuter routes.
