LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Tenn. (WMC) - Two people are recovering in the hospital after being shot Tuesday in Lauderdale County, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies responded to the 2000 block of Highway 19 East on reports of a shooting and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was shot in the shoulder and the other in the leg.

While deputies were on scene, they received additional reports of a shooting in Ripley that came from a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle from the first call.

Deputies tracked down the driver, identified as Dedreck Campbell, who had an outstanding warrant for domestic assault. Officers found an AK-47–style pistol inside Campbell’s vehicle that matched the description of the weapon used in the earlier shooting.
