MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Police are searching for two 16-year-old juveniles who escaped from the Memphis Youth Academy Thursday evening.
Just after 9 p.m., staff at the facility reported that two juveniles locked themselves in restrooms during head count. A few minutes later, administrators saw both teens climbing through the ceiling, getting onto the roof, and then jumping off. The juveniles ran westbound on Meadow Chase Lane.
Both juveniles are 16 and were last seen wearing red jackets and blue pants.
One teen was being held at the facility on charges of theft of property under $1,000, simple possession, and casual exchange of synthetic cannabis for sale. The other teen was at the facility on burglary charges.
