A North East business which designs and builds authentic Finnish saunas is set to steam ahead on the back of a six-figure funding deal.
Durham-based Finnmark Sauna has secured the finance package from Barclays to back continued expansion of its regional operations. Founder Jack Newport said the deal marks a significant end-of-year milestone for the company, which will reach its 10-year anniversary next March.
The company was launched by brothers Mr Newport and his brother Max, who set out on a mission to show people how to build and use a proper Finnish sauna, and get the full range of a sauna’s health benefits. Building the saunas from its base in Spennymoor, the company only uses techniques and materials which adhere to strict Finnish construction standards.
