MADISON, Wis. — The Henry Vilas Zoo's Lights Show is being canceled this weekend due to the dangerously cold air that is expected.

According to the First Warn Weather team , temperatures will be cold Friday, but certainly bearable with highs in the 20s. However, temperatures and wind chills will plummet overnight, beginning the ALERT DAY conditions.

These temperatures can cause frostbite in a matter of minutes, affecting the lights.

People with tickets will be automatically refunded.

“The weather forecast creates a variety of problems for us logistically and our number one priority is to provide everyone with a safe and fun experience, said Marketing Manager Kristin Moal.
