MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The extremely cold temperatures expected over the weekend prompted Henry Vilas Zoo to cancel its Zoo Lights show on Saturday and Sunday, the zoo announced Friday.
First Alert meteorologists have declared both Saturday and Sunday First Alert Weather days due to this dangerously cold weather.
The Zoo decided to cancel its lights show this weekend amid subzero temperatures, and windchills predicted to be up to -30 degrees.
Henry Vilas Zoo said everyone who already bought tickets for this weekend will be refunded.
Zoo Marketing Manager Kristin Moala said the zoo wants to ensure all of its guests stay safe and have fun.
