A developer this week filed plans for a six-story, 24-unit apartment on Hancock Street, across from the Dot Block project in Dorchester.
In a filing with the Boston Planning Department, Jennifer Lam says she would replace a vacant lot and a parking lot at 265 Hancock St. with a building that would also have ground-floor retail space and room to store 24 bicycles, but no parking spaces:
The project provides no on-site vehicle parking to maximize residential capacity and prioritize the pedestrian focused ground level functions. It is situated in a highly transit-accessible location, including proximity to the MBTA Red Line at Savin Hill Station, several bus routes, and a nearby Bluebikes station.
