Hazmat teams and fire crews rushed to a street in Govan on Friday following reports of an 'overheating' lithium battery.
Emergency services were called to a property on Summertown Road at around 10.50am on Friday, December 12, after the alarm was raised. Two appliances alongside specialist resources were mobilised to the scene.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service says that the battery was removed from the property and cooled. There were no casualties and fire crews have since left the scene.
Lithium-ion batteries, which are used in many everyday items such as e-bikes, e-scooters, phones, laptops and vapes, pose a risk of causing ferocious fires. The blazes can leave properties gutted.
