Neil Lennon is to return home to Northern Ireland following the death of his dad.
The former Celtic favourite assumed control at Dunfermline in March, guiding the side away from Championship relegation danger. The Pars have made an encouraging beginning to the current campaign, positioned merely two points behind the play-off spots having collected 22 points from 17 matches.
The Fife club took to their socials to announce the tragic news. Deputy manager Ian Brunskill and assistant coach Kevin McDonald will handle team responsibilities for Saturday's away clash with Queen's Park.
The club's announcement read: "Everyone at Dunfermline Athletic is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Gerry Lennon, father of our manager Neil Lennon .
