Georgians are looking at relatively warmer weather this weekend , but not everyone is so lucky, and it's starting to show.
On Friday morning, the U.S. Postal Service posted an update saying there may be potential disruptions due to winter weather up north. Here's what we know:
What is the polar vortex?
The polar vortex is a large area of low pressure and cold air surrounding both of the Earth’s poles which often expands during winter, sending cold air south from the northern hemisphere, according to the National Weather Service .
