Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents arrested the head coach of the Greene County High School Tigers on Thursday on charges that he assaulted students in his football program.
Darius Terrell Robinson, 34, of Union Point, was jailed on warrants charging him with simple battery and two counts of aggravated assault.
The charges alleged the coach hit and choked several minors on the team between September and November, according to the GBI report.
Those months were within the football season, which ended with a 2-8 team record. Robinson was in his first year as head coach. The Lancaster, South Carolina, native was previously on the coaching staff at Valdosta High School in south Georgia.
