A violent rapist who reigned terror on his victims for 11 years has been caged. ‌

Jonathan Moroney, from Aberdeenshire , was jailed for ten years at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday. ‌

The 39-year-old was sentenced after being found guilty at the same court earlier this year. ‌

The offences, which include rape and assault , took place between 2012 and 2023. ‌

Speaking after sentencing , Detective Chief Inspector Steven McDonald said: "Moroney is an abusive individual who carried out sexual and violent offences for his own gratification.

"He will now face the consequences of his actions and I hope this sentence provides some sense of closure to those affected.
