NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Christmas came early for students at a Nashville school Thursday.

Nashville-based nonprofit Soles4Souls handed out new pairs of tennis shoes to kids at Moses McKissack Middle School.

“That’s one less thing that families have to worry about, that’s a burden alleviated off our students,” said Tiffany Turner of Soles4Souls.

More than 100 students participated in the event.

Socks were also supplied to the children.

The kicks were donated by Under Armor. Volunteers with the company along with other organizations assisted with getting students fitted to their new shoes.

This initiative is apart of the nonprofit’s 4everykid program, which seeks to provide brand new athletic shoes to students who are less fortunate.
