COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Cobb County Schools on Thursday night passed a plan to implement a cell phone ban in the district, in accordance with state law.
Georgia's Distraction Free Education Act, passed this year , requires all districts to prohibit cell phones and other electronics to provide for a "positive learning environment free from electronic distractions" for grades K-8 by January 1 and implement their policies by July 1.
The board in Cobb County unanimously passed their version, a one-page policy.
