Gem State Housing Alliance announced its official launch Tuesday, forming a coalition that seeks to advise cities and counties on their respective housing policies in an effort to lift local development restrictions that prevent homes from being built and, in turn, keep supply low and prices high.

This Gem State Housing Alliance (GSHA) is being spearheaded by Ali Rabe, Idaho’s District 16 Senator who serves as the executive director of the organization. She has has taken on the position after six years serving as the executive director of Jesse Tree, a Boise-based housing organization providing rental assistance and eviction-related advisement.
