Last month we announced the launch of the HogmanHOWAY 5K race that will take place on New Year’s Eve in the city centre, and now the first official charity partner has been announced, the Sir Bobby Robinson Foundation, part of Newcastle Hospitals Charity. Runners will be fundraising for a new cancer research and treatment centre that will support patients across the North East, North Cumbria and North Yorkshire.
Jane Curry, Newcastle Hospitals Charity community fundraising manager, said: “We’re grateful to have been chosen as the very first official charity.” The institute will pioneer more ground breaking cancer treatment and aims to significantly increase the number of clinical trials available regionally as well as contributing to global cancer research.
Plans have now been approved
