MARSHALL, Texas — The Marshall City Council on Thursday approved funding to make emergency repairs to the sinkhole on US Highway 80/Grand Ave.

Councilmembers voted in favor of awarding a $338,663 contract to WMS Road & Bridge, a Texas-based general contractor from Marshall, to make the repairs.

Through an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation, the city of Marshall will reimbursed for repair work underneath the state’s right of way.
