Academy Award nominee and "Marty Supreme" star Timothée Chalamet will receive the Spotlight Actor of the Year Award during the Palm Springs International Film Awards.
The awards will take place on Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Palm Springs Convention Center, with the festival running Jan. 2-12.
In "Marty Supreme," Marty (played by Timothée Chalamet) is a fast-talking dreamer navigating life in New York. He believes he can turn a neglected fringe sport into a pathway to glory. The film features a diverse cast, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler Okonma (known as rapper Tyler, the Creator, making his feature-film debut), Kevin O’Leary, Abel Ferrara, Fran Drescher, Emory Cohen, and Odessa A’zion. It was directed by Josh Safdie and co-written with his longtime collaborator, Ronald Bronstein.
