The South Carolina measles outbreak continues to surge with 15 new cases and two new schools in Spartanburg County putting children in quarantine — now more than 300 students total. The state has the second largest current outbreak in the country at 126 infected, behind only Arizona.

Of the new cases, 13 lived with a known case, one lived in the same neighborhood and one was still being investigated, the Department of Public Health said in its update Dec. 12 .

But because of those contacts, students at two new schools put kids into quarantine. Campobello Gramling School has 67 students now in quarantine while Boiling Springs Elementary saw 16 go into the 21-day quarantine.
