COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Friday, Dec. 12, SC state health officials reported 15 new cases of measles in the state since Tuesday, Dec. 9, this brings the total number of cases in South Carolina related to the Upstate outbreak to 126.
Department of Public Health officials are also reporting that there are 11 schools currently impacted by the outbreak.
They recommend everyone get the measles vaccine which is 97% effective in preventing the virus.
