Join Rabbi Gorelik and new Greeley Mayor Dale Hall for the 17th annual Menorah Lighting & Chanukah Celebration on Wednesday in downtown Greeley.

The celebration kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at the 9th Street Plaza between 8th Avenue and 9th Avenue, according to a release from the Downtown Development Authority. The event will feature the lighting of the giant menorah, Jewish holiday music and traditional Chanukah tastings.

The event is free, and people of all religious backgrounds are welcome. The event is being also being organized by Chabad Jewish Center of Northern Colorado and the city of Greeley, the release states.

This year, Hannukah — the Jewish eight-day celebration of the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem — begins Sunday evening and runs through Monday, Dec. 22.
