Boston will extend its tax incentive program for developers to convert office space to apartments by another year.

The program is a central part of Mayor Michelle Wu’s economic development initiative. Since its launch in late 2023, it has attracted applications for 1,517 new apartments, largely in smaller, older downtown buildings that struggled with high vacancy.
