TOWN OF OSCEOLA, New York (WWNY) - Groomers clearing snowmobile trails in Lewis County Friday morning found something they didn’t expect: an unlocked Amazon truck filled with dozens of packages.
Officials believe it has been sitting on the Potter Road Trail in the town of Osceola for at least a couple of days.
Lewis County Sheriff Mike Carpinelli said he spoke with Amazon and was told the truck driver took a wrong turn, got stuck in the snow, and walked to find help.
He said the company previously came out with its own equipment to get the truck out, but to no avail.
The sheriff’s office will work to free the truck Friday night, but in the meantime, it has put up caution signs and a stop sign to warn snowmobilers using the trail.
