The group behind Brockville’s embattled homeless shelter is appealing to the public for charitable donations, saying more than 60 people will have nowhere to go should it close.

In a statement issued Friday, the board of the Brockville Housing Partnership, the non-profit group running the Co-Operative Care Centre (CCC), reiterated its intention to press on despite the cessation of funding at the end of the month.

“The need is not going away and neither are we,” the group’s treasurer, Tony Barnes, said in the prepared statement.
