Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sparky and the Cornwall Professional Fire Fighters Association (CPFFA) began travelling around Cornwall as part of an annual tradition to spread Christmas spirit, and help out families that might be stressed about what will be under the Christmas Tree on Dec. 25.

“We’ve got our biggest year yet for stops on our toy drive,” said Matt Richer who helps co-ordinate the program with the CPFFA. “We’ve had great support all around the community.”

Richer said the CPFFA expected to make 26 stops. Donations collected on Friday, and throughout December, will be sorted with the help of the Optimist Club of Cornwall and delivered to the Children’s Christmas Fund on Wednesday.
