SALINE COUNTY, Mo - In November Saline County Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden traveled to Washington D.C. for a fly-in for the National Association of Counties through the Rural Action Caucus. During the trip Gooden spoke with six senators on different rural priorities. Gooden says one of the topics of discussion was a portion of the current Farm Bill.

The group also pushed for a new Farm Bill. Gooden also spent the trip advocating for rural hospitals. Gooden says they received a positive reaction for the need for more rural hospital funding.
