A major recall has been issued for fully cooked, breaded chicken products distributed to across the US after officials found a mislabel and an undeclared allergen, federal food safety authorities announced.
Suzanna’s Kitchen, based in Suwanee, Georgia, is recalling approximately 62,550 pounds of its bone-in, breaded chicken portions because the product contains soy, a known allergen, that was not listed on the packaging, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The recalled product was produced Oct. 16 and shipped in 18-pound cases marked “FULLY COOKED BREADED CHICKEN PORTIONS.”
Each case contains four units and features the code “P-1380 126237 B30851 23:11 K04” printed on the side. All affected items display the USDA mark of inspection and establishment number “P-1380.”
“These items were shipped to restaurant locations nationwide,” FSIS said in its announcement. “The problem was discovered when the company notified FSIS that they had identified chicken product containing soy that had been mislabeled with a non-allergen containing product code.”

No confirmed reports of injury or illness have been linked to the recalled chicken. FSIS urges anyone worried about a possible reaction to consult a healthcare provider.
Officials are concerned that some of the chicken may still be in restaurant refrigerators or freezers. Restaurants are advised not to serve the product and to throw it away.
FSIS routinely checks that companies issuing recalls notify customers and remove the products from distribution. Retail distribution details will be posted on the FSIS website when available.
