EUGENE, Ore. - The Eugene 4J School District is grappling with a significant budget shortfall, aiming to cut around $30 million by the 2026-2027 school year.

According to the district, initial reductions totaling approximately $2.3 million have been proposed, focusing on areas like technology subscriptions and professional development. Supt. Dr. Miriam Mickelson highlighted that these initial cuts aim to avoid immediate impacts on classroom-based staffing.
