MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, MI – Amarion Cain, the 19-year-old accused of murder in a deadly Mt. Morris Township shooting in the summer of 2024, has been acquitted of murder.

A jury found Cain not guilty of open murder, two counts of assault with intent to murder and three firearms charges.

Cain, represented by attorney David Campbell , was found guilty of carrying a concealed weapon.

Cain’s case went to trial before Genesee County Circuit Court Judge Mark Latchana last week. A jury returned a verdict on Dec. 8.

He was allegedly involved in a shootout that left one teenager dead and another injured on June 25, 2024 in the 6100 block of Hilton Lane in Mt. Morris Township.

Cain was accused of killing Khamani Lindsey, a 17-year-old who died in the shooting.
