Tanner Cusick scored 15 points to lead three players in double figures as Woodland used a big third quarter to beat Mark Morris 52-39 in a 2A Greater St. Helens League boys basketball game on Friday.
Mark Morris led 23-19 at halftime, but Woodland scored 22 points in the third quarter to take a 41-35 lead.
“We were a bit lethargic the first half, so we had a heart to heart come half time, and we responded well to some adversity,” Woodland coach Justin Gabbard said. “We put Jackson Gabbard on Drew (Ibarreta), and he did a really good job on him, while everyone else picked up the energy and got after it.”
Ibarreta scored only four of his game-high 22 points in the second half.
James Long and Mike Belvin added 12 points for Woodland, who improved to 5-0 on the season (2-0 in the 2A GSHL).
