PEORIA COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - A Germantown Hills man is jailed in Peoria County on allegations that he sexually assaulted a minor over several years after she asked him questions about what she learned in a sex education class at school.
Instead of answering her questions, prosecutors said Brandon Kohtz, 33, allegedly demonstrated sex acts on the girl.
The minor told authorities the abuse started when she was in the seventh grade and continued until her sophomore year in high school.
In a release, the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office also said Kohtz sent the girl texts declaring his love for her, bribing her, and telling her to delete messages.
In court on Friday, Peoria County Associate Judge Mark Gilles granted the state’s motion to keep Kohtz in jail before his trial.
