Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed the BJP-led NDA’s performance in polls for the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation as a “watershed moment" in Kerala’s politics. The NDA emerged victorious in the Thiruvananthapuram civic polls, snatching it from the CPI(M)-led LDF and marking an end to 45 years of continuous Left rule in the local body.

Prime Minister Modi further thanked the voters for their support. In a post on X, the Prime Minister stated that the mandate reflected the people’s faith in the BJP’s ability to fulfill the state’s development aspirations and improve the ease of living, while also praising the tireless efforts and long-standing grassroots work of party karyakartas in Kerala that made the result possible.
