As another year comes to a close, the Women's Foundation of Arkansas (WFA) is doubling down on its commitment to advocate for policies that empower women and girls and help them thrive in the state we call home. This moment--more than in recent years--reminds me of our founders, 100 women who joined together to envision a bold, inclusive future for Arkansas. They believed women deserved a seat at the table and equal opportunities. From that mission, the WFA became a force for philanthropy, generosity and investment in women.
Today, however, we're confronting a troubling shift. After years of progress, we're seeing the seats women worked so hard to secure pushed away from the table. Funding for women-focused initiatives is shrinking while costs for child care, housing and basic necessities
