NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Since its rollout just over a week ago, the Department of Homeland Security reports more than 250 arrests have been made through Operation Catahoula Crunch, with a focus on what officials call criminal illegal aliens in Louisiana. On Friday, New Orleans Mayor-elect Helena Moreno said the operation is causing unnecessary fear in the region.

“We of course want violent criminals off our streets. That’s never been a question. The issue is what we’ve been seeing is that people who are not criminal, people who are not violent, appear to be profiled based on the color of their skin and being chased around,” Moreno said.
