A 16-year-old Pennsylvania boy was killed in a shooting inside a Jersey City apartment Friday evening, Dec. 12, authorities said.

Shortly after 5:10 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of an injured male inside an apartment on Rose Avenue, according to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello.

Responding officers found a male juvenile with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body, authorities said. The victim was later identified as Al-Jahmir Curry, 16, of Pennsylvania. Police did not say where in Pennsylvania he was from.

Curry was pronounced deceased just before 5:30 p.m., authorities said. The cause and manner of death are pending with the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, authorities said. No arrests have been made at this time.
