With the expected impacts of Saturday's winter storm, officials have begun to issue snow emergencies and travel advisories throughout Greater Cincinnati.

Ohio and Kentucky use a system of snow emergencies that range between levels one and three, while Indiana uses a similar system of travel advisories that use the colors of yellow, orange and red. The emergencies/advisories in all three states mean the same thing. An explanation of the different levels can be found below.
A Level 1 Snow Emergency or "yellow" travel advisory is defined as motorists being advised to use caution due to hazardous road conditions resulting from accumulations of snow/and or ice.
