OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A woman is in the hospital after a crash involving a tanker truck in Olive Township on Saturday morning, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO).
Around 8:50 a.m., OCSO deputies, Olive Township Fire and AMR were dispatched to a crash between an SUV and a tanker truck on northbound US-31 at Port Sheldon Street.
Deputies said an investigation showed that a tanker truck fully loaded with liquid nitrogen, driven by a 39-year-old Indiana man, was headed northbound on US-31 south of Port Sheldon Street.
At the intersection, deputies said the traffic light turned red and the tanker truck wasn't able to stop, so it slid through.
