PLAIN, Wash. — A driver in Chelan County narrowly survived a terrifying crash Monday after a tree washed across Highway 207 and pierced through his truck’s cab — missing his face by inches.
The incident, described in a Facebook post and detailed in an interview with KING 5, unfolded as mudslides and flooding closed roads throughout the region.
Rodger Brown, who lives near Fish Lake, said he had been trying to get over Stevens Pass when he encountered road closures and landslides near Skykomish. On his way back home along state Route 207 near Coles Corner, he saw what looked like a tree jutting into the roadway and a truck pulled off to the side.
