ATLANTA, GA (WIS) - South Carolina State has become the Celebration Bowl champions once again after coming back from a 21-point deficit against Prairie View A&M in a 4OT thriller.
Head coach Chennis Berry now joins former SC State head coaches Willie Jeffries and Buddy Pough as national championship winners.
Prairie View A&M came into the game with all the energy. The Panthers scored the first 21 points of the game with the help of quarterback Cameron Peters.
Then came the Bulldogs. SC State took over in the third quarter. Starting quarterback William Atkins IV was forced to leave the game due to injury, forcing the Bulldogs to go with Ryan Stubblefield.
Stubblefield proceeded to take over the game, throwing a touchdown and leading the Bulldogs during a 21-0 run to tie the game.
