Taking over for a legendary figure like Nick Saban is an almost impossible task — one that few could truly replicate or exceed. That’s the challenge current Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer accepted following Saban’s retirement after the 2023 season.

While DeBoer has kept Alabama relevant, finishing second in the SEC this year and earning a College Football Playoff berth, it's very clear the program has regressed in certain areas.

The Crimson Tide missed the CFP and suffered a bowl loss in DeBoer's first season, and despite securing a postseason bid this year as the No. 9 seed, they’ve already totaled three losses.
