Winter weather advisory for Passaic and Bergen counties until Sunday afternoon

On Saturday at 1:16 p.m. the National Weather Service released a winter weather advisory valid from 10 p.m. until Sunday 1 p.m. for Passaic and Bergen counties.

“Total snow accumulations between 2 and 3 inches expected, locally 4 inches possible,” comments the weather service. “Light snow develops after 6pm, becoming steadier after 10pm. Snowfall rates up to 1/2′ hr possible overnight into Sunday morning, resulting in reduced visibilities and snow covered roads. Snow ending mid to late Sunday morning.”

“Plan on hazardous road conditions with snow covered roads late this evening into Sunday morning,” explains the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions.”
