We've seen surface temperatures in the single digits above and below zero locally, and even deeper cold aloft. This frigid air mass is expected to hold on through the end of the weekend.
The forecast calls for feels like temperatures dropping overnight into Sunday morning to a brutal -20 to -35 degrees. This is why a Cold Weather Advisory is in effect.
However, there is some good news on the horizon. We are tracking a shift early next week. A pattern change is expected, and we'll begin to see more normal temperatures return by Tuesday, with daytime highs reaching into the 30s. While temperatures will climb, we do anticipate winds picking up again on Monday, which could keep wind chills below zero through Monday morning as that warmer air moves in.
