HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The man behind the wheel of a stalled car on the Southwest Freeway overnight died after a tow truck crashed into him, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said the incident happened at 2:15 a.m. on Saturday on the Southwest Freeway at Chimney Rock Road.
Investigators say a black Mazda was broken down in the middle of the freeway.
"That wrecker driver did not see this disabled vehicle because, according to witnesses, that vehicle did not have any lights or anything displayed on it and no hazard lights or anything," HPD Sgt. Michael Barrow said.
Officers say the tow truck driver says he didn't see the Mazda and crashed into it. The driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead on the scene. The tow truck driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with
